Husky Mixes, The Cutest Top 4 Husky Mixed Dogs

Sharing is caring!

What are the Top 4 Husky Mixes?

I had a Husky/German Shepherd mix as a child, and I adored him. I was interested in Husky mix-breeds because I am looking for a dog now that I am an adult. I did some study on mixed breeds and thought I’d share what I discovered with you.

How do you know which Husky mix breed is suitable for your home when choosing a Husky mix breed?

  1. Owners looking for a smaller dog should consider a Husky or a Corgi mix (Horgi).
  2. Owners looking for a trainable dog should consider a Husky + German Shepherd mix (Gerberian Shepskie).
  3. Owners who want a huge, high-energy dog might consider a Husky or Malamute (Alusky).
  4. Owners looking for a lovely, medium-sized dog can consider a Husky + Australian Shepherd mix (Aussie Husky).

Because they are part Husky, all of these breeds will be extremely intelligent. They will, however, interact with people and other canines in significantly different ways.

How to Choose a Husky Mixed Breed?

Whether you want a high-energy, large dog or a smaller, cuddle-buddy type dog, choosing a Husky mix breed for your family is based on your needs. Depending on the breed, some dogs are better with children than others, so it’s crucial to understand your family’s needs first.

So, before you make any decisions, develop a list of what you require from your dog. Here’s a quick rundown of some questions that may or may not apply to you.

  1. What size dog am I capable of keeping up with?
  2. How much space do I have for my dog?
  3. Do I have enough time to devote to a dog?
  4. Do I want a high-energy or playful dog?
  5. Do I have children, and if so, will this dog get along with them?
  6. What level of commitment am I willing to make? How about fifteen years?
  7. Do I want a dog with long hair or one that does not shed?
  8. Is it true that I already have a pet? Will, my dog get along with other people and dogs?

Before we move on to any of these dog mixes, hopefully, these questions have gotten you thinking. One of the most crucial phases is determining what you want or need.

Another thing to keep in mind is that true crossbreeds are produced by crossing two purebred parents, which might make obtaining a crossbreed or mix more expensive.

The following are the top four mixes that I have chosen for this list: A Husky/Corgi mix, a Husky/German Shepherd mix, a Husky/Malamute mix, and a Husky/Australian Shepherd mix are all possible combinations.

Husky Corgi Mix

This blend is frequently referred to as a Corgski or a Horgi which we have previously written about. The Horgi mixed breed tends to be short and the offspring mostly takes after the Corgi parent.

The color combination of these puppies is stunning. For breeders, predicting what color a Corgski will be ahead of time can be difficult. A puppy’s coat color can range from golden brown like a Corgi to white and black like a Husky.

The color spectrum includes red, golden, brown, tan, and white. A Corgski will almost never come in a single hue.

It truly is a case-by-case basis.

It is common for the Husky Corgi mix to have marks around its eyes. Most of the time, it will resemble a white mask. It is just pure cuteness that you cannot contain.

A Husky and Corgi combination is likely to appeal to families. Husky mixes are known for their friendliness. The Horgi mixed breed is safer for children because it will be smaller. Keep in mind that dogs should be trained from a young age so that they do not jump up on people.

Horgi’s have a lot of energy to run around, which comes from both parents. So, if you’re looking for a smaller dog that can play with the kids, this is the greatest option on the list.

Because these dogs have thick coats, they will need to be brushed frequently. This may not be your favorite task, but with luxurious, lovely fur coats comes responsibility.

Another thing to keep in mind is that Horgi’s can gain weight quickly, so avoid overfeeding your dog to avoid health issues, particularly back problems.

Husky German Shepherd Mix

I may be biased, but I believe this is the best combination. Gerberian Shepskie is a cross between a Husky and a German Shepherd. Huskies and German Shepherds are both clever dogs, so you’re getting one clever dog.

Gerberian Shepsky

Gerberian Shepskies is a really attractive Husky and German Shepherd mix. They are genetically designed to survive colder temperatures using their heavy undercoats. However, they are going to shed a lot of hair so a Gerberian Shepsky owner should be prepared to thoroughly brush them.

The colors brown, black, and gray are the most common hues seen in Husky/German shepherds. Some will have white fur, while others will have golden or reddish-brown fur.

A Gerberian Shepsky is an active dog with a good appetite. They’ll consume a lot of food so be sure to start them off on a well-balanced diet.

The Gerberian Shepsky is easier to train than purebred Huskies. Huskies are autonomous dogs, but combining them with an obedient breed tends to solve a lot of people’s difficulties with control. Just make sure they start obedience school while they’re little.

To avoid having aggressive dogs, make sure your dog spends time with other dogs while he or she is young. Gerberian Shepskies will be protective of their family, which can be difficult to manage but is also beneficial to have as a safety net.

Husky Malamute Mix

This lovely combination is commonly referred to as Alusky. This breed is large and attractive. For those looking for a larger dog, this is likely to be the finest option.

alusky

An Alusky will resemble a wolf more than a standard Husky, so much so that you may be able to get away with telling your friends that it is a wolf pup. Although Aluskies are adorable and charming, you’ll be surprised at how different this mixed dog acts from how he appears.

An Alusky’s affable demeanor makes him ideal for playing with children. Just make sure your dog is well-trained, and youngsters should be able to have as much fun as they want with an Alusky.

Aluskies, similar to Huskies has a nasty habit of digging and running at the same time. Make certain you have a sturdy fence that is buried deep in the earth. Having a sandbox to dig in is a fantastic idea.

Because these dogs might be stubborn, it is best to have an experienced dog owner to ensure that the dog is well-behaved.

Husky Australian Shepherd Mix

A Husky and an Australian Shepherd cross results in an Aussie Husky. Aussie Huskies are adorable Husky mixes. Aussie Husky puppies are stunning and they come in browns, blacks, and whites. You can gaze into an Aussie Husky’s blue eyes for days! They are truly one of the most beautiful canines on the planet.

Aussie Husky

Because Aussie Huskies are a new mixed breed, there isn’t a lot of definitive data on its temperament because so many of these dogs are the first generation.

As a result, start training the dog young and make sure you’re ready to take on a high-energy canine. Digging in the yard should be avoided. These are the most serious issues with these dogs.

The Appearance of the Siberian Husky

Many people appreciate huskies because of their wolf-like looks. People are captivated by these fluffy critters because they resemble wild animals, yet they are essentially happy dogs.

Husky girls are slightly smaller than males and weigh 35 to 50 pounds on average. As a result, the dog is categorized as a medium-sized dog (but on the higher end of that spectrum.)

Huskies are usually black and white, however, some might be totally white due to genetics.

They are long-haired and have a double coat. Shaving a Husky can hinder the dog’s capacity to insulate and regulate body temperature, so it’s important to prevent it. Shaving a Husky can result in a burnt puppy, which is not ideal.

Huskies have wolf-like ears that are naturally pointy. They are thought to be descendants of the Taimyr wolf, which is no longer found in Northern Asia.

They’re sled dogs, or at least that’s what they were used for before it became fashionable to keep dogs as pets.

A Husky has a lifespan of 12 to 15 years. This is quite depressing because it appears to be so brief, but they will be dependable companions for the rest of their lives.

Some mixed breeds with huskies are more, which is why having a mixed breed could be a wonderful idea for you if you want a family dog that will last a long time.

Siberian Husky Characteristics & Temperament

Huskies are great dogs. Huskies are clever, energetic, and enthusiastic, according to most owners. If you wait too long, it may become difficult to train.

All of this is crucial to know if you’re thinking about getting a mixed breed dog because any Husky offspring will have the same (although subdued) personality qualities.

Huskies will spend a lot of time in the yard, even as adults. This can be beneficial if your children enjoy running. This may not be the dog breed for you if you don’t think you can handle a dog that is continuously on the run.

Because these dogs are often on the move and aren’t exactly little, they’ll eat a lot. This will necessitate frequent purchases of dog food, which is something to consider if you are concerned about your budget.

The fact that a Husky is “a lot of a dog to handle” is a common complaint among owners. What one person despises, another adores, which is why huskies and mixed huskies are so popular.

They aren’t extremely talkative dogs, although they do bark occasionally. If a Husky spots something in the backyard, it will most likely bark, but it will not bark for no reason (most of the time.) They might howl if anything.

Huskies are known for their independence, which is why having a head start on training them is crucial. Huskies are not often regarded as suitable dogs for first-time owners due to a little attitude problem.

Another nasty trait is escaping from owners, not because they want to, but because they enjoy running. They might also dig holes in the lawn. Some people do this in the summer to keep cool.

Siberian Husky Health Concerns

Huskies are more susceptible to certain health issues than other breeds. Hip dysplasia is a condition in which the hips slide out of place in a large number of Huskies. For dogs, this can be excruciatingly painful. Having your pet insured, in my experience, is quite beneficial.

Eye problems in huskies are another danger. This normally does not occur until the dog is older, but it may necessitate the administration of medication to your dog.
